To stay out of trouble, my friend and I decided to learn to play tennis. I purchased each of us a $5.00 wooden racket, and we went to the tennis court. Our tennis shoes cost about as much as our tennis rackets, shorts and a t-shirt was the tennis wear of the day, and we collected coke bottles to purchase our tennis balls. Getting time on the tennis courts back then took longer than today. Everyone was playing; waiting for a court (there was an abundance of outdoor courts and no indoor courts where I lived), could take up to a couple of hours; but we were persistent, and we waited. When we first started playing, we hit balls everywhere. The people playing next to us had to be the most patient people in the world. Chasing balls was what we really did for awhile, but soon we got where we could actually hit a rally. Then we got where we could play for points. Customer Review: too narrow
I remember buying these shoes in the early 90’s but as a reviewer on another site notes the fit has narrowed. I’m barely a medium width (D) and these shoes felt too tight in the front section of the foot. That tight a fit would cause on to be in pain if wearing them. Just look at a picture of these shoes, they’re shaped like a canoe, long and narrow. I had to return them. I’d go with the newer versions of tennis shoe. The problem with this shoe is I don’t think they are available except on the internet so I couldn’t try them on first.
I also didn’t like the grey lining on the inside.

How incredible cool was this book? It is one of my favorites of the Tennis Shoes series and I loved the wild madness of the South American horror of human sacrifice and all the other horrible concepts. But, beyond the gore, we have a truly emotional and spiritual experience that is revealed with… (duh duh!) the coming of Christ to the Americas. There is romance, adventure, good and evil. Perfect adventure story.

This thoroughly delightful story captures the attention of 4-7 year olds each year as I read it in Storytime. It clearly expresses the fears of Stephen, who has a tendency to exaggerate, and also doesn’t want to go to bed in the dark. This imaginative tale ends on a highly satisfying note as Stephen uses his wit to solve his dilemma.

I have been wearing Prince Quik Trac Tennis shoe for the past ten years. It is the only one I will wear as long as I can get them. I have problem feet and Prince Quik Trac is the best for me for support and comfort.

I really love this shoe. The front of the shoe is wide enough to be comfortable–and its lightweight. Also, the white color is neutral enough to wear with any outfit. I play tennis only once a week but I like the shoe so much I bought two pairs.

Sometimes I think that the Tennis Shoes series should have ended with “The Golden Crown”. Not to say that this next section of the series isn’t most exciting, but this book is not up to par with the rest of the series and is sadly rather average.
