Volkl - BB 10 (Boris Becker) Tennis Racket w/ Free Stringing The Volkl BB10 is the latest model from Volkl and bears the initials of the German tennis legend, Boris Becker. Designed with tournament players in mind, the BB10 features the newly designed Energy Box and Energy Shaft construction delivering enhanced racquet-head stability and increased power through the stiffer shaft construction. The BB-10 will support the ambitious demands of any serious tennis player. The BB10 slots into Volkl’s line as being slightly more powerful than the Catapult 8 V-Engine. Volkl Energy Box: Positioned at 5 & 7 o’clock on the racquet head, the Energy Box is supported with Titanium and Lite Carbon. This material mix along with the box shape construction was designed to add stability to the racquet. Especially on off-center shots, the Energy Box stabilizes the racquet and ensures a smoother and more precise game. Volkl Energy Shaft: This unique triangle shaped shaft construction was developed for one reason only: POWER. The Energy shaft stiffens the shaft area of a racquet, resulting in less energy loss and adding superior power to every shot. Free Stringing Included: We will string this racquet for you at the manufacturer’s recommended tension using Wilson Stamina 16g synthetic gut at no cost.

Pronation is a special type of arm movement that allows you to accelerate your tennis racket through the ball, increasing the amount of power and spin you can generate. All advanced players pronate when they serve, but very few club-level players pronate properly. Let’s start with a basic explanation of what exactly pronation is. Place your hands out in front of your body and point your palms at each other. Now rotate your forearm and wrist together, as one piece, so that your palms are facing the floor. This simple motion of your arm is pronation; the act of turning your palm to face away from you. If you rotate in the opposite direction so that your palms are facing the ceiling, then you are “supinating” your arm, which is the opposite of pronating. Another good way to understand the motion of pronation involves your cell phone. Take out your phone and hold it to your ear like you were talking to someone. Pretend that your computer monitor is a person and you want to show them who y …

Overall, tennis has been a very tempting sport. This has often kept the instruments of the game at the backdrop. Even they have been very important in letting the game prosper as it has. Imagine what the stars would do without tennis racquets or balls or even tennis bags. You would never imagine if not being told, that a tennis racket holds a world in itself there are so many points to ponder. Professional racquets come with a thin beam width. This offers greater range and flexibility to a player even as it adds to the quality of drop shots. These give greater control over shots. These racquets are also ergonomic in nature. In terms of balance, a racquet can be head heavy or head light. It can also be evenly balanced. The racquet length is divided over 5 main specifications. They vary between 27 and 28 inches keeping a distance of .25 inches. Today, the sports is being strongly followed frown a young age. This is why there are many junior racquets as well. They come with lighter grips …

They hold the racket like they would a fly swatter and take whack at the tennis ball. This makes perfect sense to them, as they are yet unaware of the relationship between loading, twisting, unloading, acceleration, pronation and follow-through. They just want to hit the ball! As these players start to improve their technique through proper instruction, they are weaned off of the Full Western grip and toward the Continental grip. This is the primary grip used for the serve. There are two reasons we use this grip: Power and Spin. We’ll get into those in a minute; but let’s first take a closer look at the grip itself and how we actually make contact with the tennis ball using the Continental grip. The Continental grip is achieved by ’shaking hands’ with the racket grip, with the tennis racket being perpendicular to the ground. There is ‘V’ shape formed by your hand when you ’shake hands’ with the tennis racket. Picture an imaginary line running from the center of the ‘V’ formed by your …

Volkl - Tour 10 Gen II Mid Plus Tennis Racket w/ Free Stringing Volkl is proud to embrace the many accolades given over the past years to the legendary C10 Pro - realizing that an improvement was not only possible, but also needed for today’s game. With this in mind, as well as respecting those players who believed that the C10 Pro was their personal “Holy-Grail”, Volkl is proud to introduce the next “Legend” to the tennis world - Tour 10 Gen II Mid Plus. The biggest difference between the Tour 10 Gen II Mid Plus and the Tour 10 V-Engine Mid Plus can be found in the throat area. The Tour 10 Gen II Mid Plus remains traditional looking in this region. By doing so, the “soft” / “flexible” / “feel” remains for those players longing for that special feel of yesterday’s racquets but having today’s technology enhancements for greater performance. Let there be no confusion! The Tour 10 Gen II Mid Plus is a serious racquet designed only for the serious player who demands the ultimate in today’s technology combined with the traditional feel of yesterday. Ideally suited for players with aggressive, long strokes. Recommended for the 5.0-7.0 NTRP level players. Dynamic PCP: Power Control Pattern: The dense string pattern in the racquet’s sweetspot ensures that power is controllable. Balls hit outside the sweetspot maintain optimal power and comfort thanks to the more open string bed. Sensor Tour Handle System: Includes a two part racquet shaft and TechnoGel surrounded by EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate). This is visible technology you can actually see through the butt cap of the racquet. Designed to dampen vibration without sacrificing touch. Free Stringing Included: We will string this racquet for you at the manufacturer’s recommended tension using Wilson Stamina 16g synthetic gut at no cost.

The venue now considered potentially too prosperous by its owners for it to be used solely for tennis. Despite this early set back, the club grew in stature and over the next twenty years West Side members were to relocate twice more, before finding their new home that was to accredit the now famous tournament with its name. 1912 saw the acquisition of the Forest Hills site in New York, however the club’s popularity required a 14,000 seat stadium rebuild to cope with public demand. Finally, West Side players had a permanent home. The potential of the new Forest Hills site drew attention from the United States Lawn Tennis association and major world players alike, it was here that the U.S open and Grand Slam events were to flourish and become recognizable around the globe.
