Babolat Pure Drive Roddick Tennis Racquet - 1323 Babolat Pure Drive Roddick Tennis Racquet - 1323 New for 2006, the Babolat Pure Drive Roddick is a slightly heavier update to the legendary Babolat Pure Drive Team. Meant to more closely replicate the weight of Andy’s racquet, the Pure Drive Roddick provides a little more stiffness and power, provided you are able to handle the additional weight. Still categorized as a tweener (between powerful/controlled), the Pure Drive Roddick should retain its appeal to a wide array of players. Works well at the net (though not quite as maneuverable), as well as the baseline. Babolat also makes use of a new vibration dampening material called Cortex placed at the top of the handle and acts as an active dampener, without sacrificing feel.

    Customer Review: Great all-around racquet
This racquet is great for intermediate players who are looking for power and control. Although it is a bit heavier then normal racquets, it really doesn’t matter unless you dont have alot of strength. I recommend using Babolat custom hybrid strings which is the Pro Hurricane half-set and Vs half-set. I’m very pleased with this racquet and im sure you’ll be pleased too!

Babolat New Pure Drive (Cortex) 107 Tennis Racquet - 1332 Babolat New Pure Drive (Cortex) 107 Tennis Racquet - 1332 An update to the legendary Babolat Pure Drive Team Oversize, the new Pure Drive 107 w/ Cortex utilizes a vibration filter called Cortex at the top of the handle. Cortex is used in several of Babolat’s players racquets to enhance feel by cancelling only the 2 highest vibration frequencies.Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter.

Other than the addition of the Cortex filter (and a snazzy new paint scheme) Babolat has kept the specifications on this new Pure Drive 107 similar to the outgoing Pure Drive Team Oversize, with a few refinements. The headsize is slightly smaller (107 vs. 110 square inches), and length is reduced to 27.2″ from 27.5″. The Pure Drive Oversize w/ Cortex is now more like a traditional players racquet in the sense that it’s light, stiff, and fairly powerful. Control is improved versus the prior generation Pure Drive Team Oversize.

More effectively categorized as a tweener (between powerful/controlled), the Pure Drive still appeals to a very wide array of players. One of a few racquets that works well at the net, as well as the baseline.

      Racquet Specifications
    • Headsize: 107 sq. in.
    • Length: 27.20 in.
    • Weight (strung): 10.90 oz.
    • Stiffness (Babolat RDC): 70
    • Balance: 13.10 in. Head Light

Customer Review: Solid choice for 3.0-5.0 players
I have tried many of the babolat racquets [...] and found that this racquet was one of the most controllable and most powerful. More head space provides a bigger sweet spot and a lighter frame (perfect for beginners) and a bigger trampoline effect when it comes into contact with the ball When your are doing crisp volleys at the net the trampoline effect also improve your shots and control.
The lighter frame also improves your swing speed increasing the spin you put on the ball.
