Wilson NXT 16 Tennis Racquet String (16 Gauge, Mini Reel) Increase your racquet’s sweet spot by more than 10 percent with the Wilson NXT 16-gauge racquet string. Rated the number one synthetic gut string for playability and comfort by the Unites States Racquet Stringers Association (USRSA), the string is made using dual-wrap DuPont Xycro microfibers bonded with polyurethane coating. The string’s resulting feel and durability also reduces vibration by up to 74 percent versus a traditional synthetic gut, minimizing the risk of arm injury. It’s the perfect string for virtually any racquet. The mini reel includes 125 feet of string–enough for six to seven hybrid half sets or three full racquets–and fits easily in a tennis bag.

Dunlop 600G ICE Tennis Racquet
Tennis Magazine Editors Choice Award
A tweener racquet that leans more towards the power end of the spectrum, the Dunlop 600G ICE offers a lightweight racquet that exhibits an increased amount of power versus the Dunlop 400G, and is suitable for intermediate level players. The 600G ICE is very easy on the arm and has a more open string pattern which allows greater potential to generate spin, all while enhancing the size of the sweetspot.

Customer Review: BEST VALUE RACQUET I bought a prince o3 “red” and used it for a few months; I liked it. Then I broke a string and had to switch back to my “reserve” racquet, the 600G. It was a night and day difference! The sweet spot was huge, everything felt so much easier! When I saw how cheap this racquet now goes for (back in england in 2006 I paid over 120 STERLING for this racquet) I bought another. The prince is now confined to the closet. And I am now the best tennis player in the world… (one part of this review is untrue). Customer Review: I would buy it again This is the best racquet I’ve played with because of its balance of control, power and maneuverability. It’s good for serves, ball placement, drop shots and plenty of spin. This 600G is the best value on the market today.

Head Titanium Ti-S6 Tennis Racquet Review
Our Review: Tennis Magazine gave A’s in all four categories. Power, Comfort, Control and Maneuverability. One of the best all time rated racquets.
The Head TI-S6 tennis racquet is the #1 selling racquet in America for a reason. Head produced the TI-S6 to have all the answers for the club player with a compact swing. Its superior titanium design allows a level of control rarely seen in a racquet with this much power. The maneuverability of a light weight racquet is there, but we were surprised by how solid it was on off center shots.

Customer Review: Great Racquet I have been using this racquet for about four years. I have a longer reach and bigger sweet spot than my opponents. I can see the advantage particulary on overheads…I get balls no one thinks I can return. I find it to be a versatile and very forgiving racquet. I had two, and the frame on one became damaged…thank goodness for Amazon where I was able to find another back up. I was really anxious thinking I had to audition new racquets….right before a Sectionals competition.

Babolat New Pure Drive (Cortex) 107 Tennis Racquet - 1332 An update to the legendary Babolat Pure Drive Team Oversize, the new Pure Drive 107 w/ Cortex utilizes a vibration filter called Cortex at the top of the handle. Cortex is used in several of Babolat’s players racquets to enhance feel by cancelling only the 2 highest vibration frequencies.Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter.
Other than the addition of the Cortex filter (and a snazzy new paint scheme) Babolat has kept the specifications on this new Pure Drive 107 similar to the outgoing Pure Drive Team Oversize, with a few refinements. The headsize is slightly smaller (107 vs. 110 square inches), and length is reduced to 27.2″ from 27.5″. The Pure Drive Oversize w/ Cortex is now more like a traditional players racquet in the sense that it’s light, stiff, and fairly powerful. Control is improved versus the prior generation Pure Drive Team Oversize.
More effectively categorized as a tweener (between powerful/controlled), the Pure Drive still appeals to a very wide array of players. One of a few racquets that works well at the net, as well as the baseline.
Racquet Specifications
- Headsize: 107 sq. in.
- Length: 27.20 in.
- Weight (strung): 10.90 oz.

- Balance: 13.10 in. Head Light
- Cross Section: 26/23mm Tapered Beam
- Swingweight: 324 kg*sq. cm

The right racquet will allow you to play with more confidence and consistency. There are a few important elements to consider when choosing the optimum tennis racquet for your needs including the size and shape of the head, weight, balance, length, thickness and the material that the frame is made of. If you want increased power, spin and surface area of the sweet spot, you should choose a larger head size of 107 square inches or more. 100-105 square inches will give you even control and a head of less than 98 square inches will allow you to swing freely and aggressively. Beginners and recreational players may choose a longer racquet than the standard 28 inches providing more reach power and a greater capacity for spin. For a little more control, minimise the length. The heavier the racquet, the more power potential and the easier it is to return an opponent’s powerful shot. These heavier racquets however are more taxing on the player so many beginners choose a lighter racquet to cons …

In watching the pros, when they hit the ball, they are at least 6 inches off of the ground. Power is generated with proper technique. A rule of thumb is get ready early, bend low, put your hips in the “swinging motion”, keep your head steady and your eye on the ball, hit the “sweet” spot, and follow through. By combining all the above elements, and applying them at the same time you can achieve maximum power. To create racket speed, make sure you turn your body; turning your body brings your racket back automatically. Don’t pull your racket back, turn your body with the racket stationary. Moving your racket as you turn, insures your racket will be parallel with your shoulders, even when you turn again and meet the ball at contact point. This allows the ball to go where your belly button points when you make impact. Also, hit through the ball by letting your racket follow the ball down the court toward the spot where you intended it to go. Also, buying a racket with a larger “sweet” sp …
