Mark McCormack is the founder of the International Management Group (IMG) and was the guy who became Arnold Palmer s agent in 1959. At the time, although enormously successful and popular, Palmer had only one endorsement deal - with Heinz for $500 a year (and as much ketchup as he wanted). Mark and Arnie s simple handshake agreement changed the world of sports forever. Stick with me, this is NOT about sports. It wasn t long before McCormack had signed two other rising stars Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus. McCormack didn t limit himself to golf. In 1968, he signed his first tennis player, Australia s Rod Laver as well as representing athletes from football, rugby, cricket, motor racing and a host of other sports. McCormack s company, International Management Group or IMG, became the biggest name in corporate sport and moved beyond sports, managing former Presidents and Prime Ministers, Pope John Paul II and even represented the Nobel Peace Prize. There is more to the sports business tha …

It is my contention that the coach who starts players off on the path of playing, particularly if teaching juniors, needs to be a coach who understands and can coach every aspect of the game. This includes technical and tactical skills, strategy, mental skills, fitness training, periodisation and nutrition. A prospective coach will learn a number of these areas during the coach qualification period; however, it is again my own view that a newly qualified coach should work together with a pro. For at least 3 - 6 months after qualifying. A coaching course can be taken with the LTA in the U.K. the USPTA in the States and the largest coaching organization worldwide the USPTR (known as PTRUK in The UK). About Adidas The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant. Adi Dassler s aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920, when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War. The Adidas name dates back to 1948, deriving from the first two syllables of Adi Dassler s first and last name. One year later, Adi Dassler registered the Three Stripes as a trademark. After a period spanning almost 70 years, the Dassler Family withdrew from the company in 1989, and the enterprise was transformed into a corporation (”Aktiengesellschaft”). French-born Robert Louis-Dreyfus was Chairman of the Executive Board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated Adidas flotation on the stock market in November 1995. Adidas–a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe. Today, the Adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf.
Customer Review: Good shoes They are a very good shoes, but the size runs smaller than the other brands. Think of that when you are shopping. Customer Review: Great shoes, but… These are great shoes. They have a classic look, are quite comfortable, and nicely priced. However, they are not very durable. If you buy them to play tennis they will wear out in 2-3 months. I have gone through 4 pairs in the last two years alone. Otherwise, just fine.
