There is a concept called muscle memory, where the muscles remember many actions that the brain may not and prompts one to perform accordingly. This is what is often referred to as ’second nature’ as well. Games like tennis also must be played in order to be good at it. But it is also true at the same time that certain basic fundamentals of the game must also be learned beforehand so that when you are in the court, you do not waste time in asking silly fundamentals. Watch, read, play and learn. Once you are know how to hit a ball and receive one you should concentrate on watching good tennis and reading more about it. As sports these days become more and more sophisticated and researched upon latest techniques are always formulated to find out how to play efficiently. Take a bow! This is a wonderful thought. The older one gets the more past there is and the more opportunity there is for regret. However, it is hugely important to live and function without regret. It is not that one wouldn’t change an action in the past, but how else is one to learn? A very wise woman I know, Therese, explained it this way. At any moment in time we can only do what we do. It seems like we could have done otherwise, but at each moment we do what we do with what we’ve got. That means the knowledge, the impulses and desires, the pressures around us from society, the influences from the world and even the stars. Our actions lead us to consequences and the consequences teach us. So, have no regrets - understanding yes, but no regrets. Honor your past. By letting go of the past, now we can bless our future and love our present by focusing on it. Then, of course, we must honor ourselves. Give credit where credit is due. Benefit: Hitting the slice backhand allows you to hit a controlled shot back to our opponent if they have pulled you wide with their low, short ball. Benefit: A slice allows you the opportunity to hit an approach shot deep, controlled, and off-pace, which gives you time to get to the net and be prepared for your opponent’s lob or passing shot attempts. Reason #2: The slice backhand is hit when an opponent pulls you wide to your backhand side during a baseline rally.
