Customer Review: Great Racquet
I have been using this racquet for about four years. I have a longer reach and bigger sweet spot than my opponents. I can see the advantage particulary on overheads…I get balls no one thinks I can return. I find it to be a versatile and very forgiving racquet. I had two, and the frame on one became damaged…thank goodness for Amazon where I was able to find another back up. I was really anxious thinking I had to audition new racquets….right before a Sectionals competition.

Before this point, the history of tennis is the history of a completely different game real tennis. Real tennis is played on indoor courts. In fact, real tennis cannot be played outside the players use the angled walls of a real tennis court to strategically hit and return the ball to their opponents. Yes, real tennis his very similar to today s modern tennis, or lawn tennis, but only in the same way that handball, badminton, croquet, and racquetball are similar to lawn tennis! That is why I choose to start my history of tennis at the point in which lawn tennis diverged from real tennis, and this happened in the 1850 s. It was in the 1850 s that Charles Goodyear, of Goodyear tire fame, invented vulcanized rubber. Vulcanized rubber is a process that prevents natural rubber from deteriorating so quickly (without the vulcanization process, natural rubber could deteriorate within just a few days.) So, with the vulcanization of rubber came rubber tennis balls. The rubber tennis bal …

Tennis has a gentlemen’s competitive spirit that brings a ray of light to the sport. Have you ever wondered how your friend all of a sudden started beating a person each time they played after losing many times initially? There are simple explanations of just becoming faster and being more fit, but what comes with that are improved skills and mental recognition during match play to execute shots in certain situations. What you may see is better shot making, what a coach sees is someone who now hits the right shot at the right time, plays the percentages, and knows his or her opponent’s game. Upon recognizing your opponents, weaknesses, you can now start to effectively employ a strategy to win. In the beginning, you may not be able to do this but with repetition, it will improve and you will find yourself winning more sets. For example, if you are losing to a serve and volley player, employ if you can, what world No.1 Roger Federer does and chip or slice returns back “low” to them feet …

One of the most important aspects of tennis is the serve. It’s your chance to score heavily, but it’s also your opponents chance to break you down, and smash your spirits. During the serve, the pressure is definitely on, to impress and score consistently. However, by resorting to the basics, and ensuring you remember each vital point, you can work towards establishing a solid routine for more consistent serving. To start off, you should think about your stance. Although it’s not the most glamorous part of the game, it is definitely crucial to providing a solid foundation for a solid serve. Ensure that your feet are pointing in the right direction, and that they remain around a shoulder’s width apart. It’s also crucial to keep your knees bent, as this will allow you to generate the necessary power through your toss to give you that strong serve. Additionally, you should probably try to maintain a Continental grip through your first serve to generate raw power through the ball. Although …

Of course, you’ll feel excited and nervous and it’s easy to allow your fear to overcome you. However, there are certain key mental points that you can use in order to overcome this fear rather than succumbing to it. Here are those mental points and how to utilize them to play strategically against a higher ranked opponent. Realize Who the Pressure Is On Hey, when you go out there to play this great opponent, you need to realize one thing. Although it might feel like all the pressure is on you, it’s not. The pressure is on your opponent because people expect him or her to beat you. Your opponent knows this as well. He understands that he’s the one in the spotlight and that they are the ones with everything to lose. You, on the other hand, have nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing strategically and realizing who the pressure is really on. You’re Not Playing the Player You’re playing their reputation. In fact, you might be just as great as they are in different areas. Howeve …

Then he greets our opponents and goes back to the base line and gently hits a few practice groundstrokes. “Hey, I’m ready. Let’s play!” The play began. Naturally our opponents tried to hit as many balls to me as possible, but if Bobby could reach a ball he would hit some off-speed shot, a junker, to set up a weak return and then he’d put it away. At five games all he stopped the match and asked our opponents, “I know you guys are going to beat us because we are really struggling here. But just to make it interesting Marv and I want to press the bet and make it $500 at corner. How does that sound?” Without hesitation, they both smiled and agreed. They were clearly out playing me, but I hung in and the points got longer. The more I could stay in the point, the longer it got. The crowd loved it. Point after point I hung in just long enough for Bobby to get his racket on the ball and do something spectacular. My heart was pounding. Then after some wild points, Bobby ends up putting away a …
